How do you define time?

*startled* Now THAT is a Grand Question, worthy of the greatest minds! Somebody once said 'Time is what keeps everything from happening all at once,' but I think this is more an evasive witticism than serious thought. I suppose Time could be thought of as the progressive path of cause-and-effect relationships.

jabberwacky: What do you think of god?

user: *Amazed* I was just about to discuss God with you! Now our consciousnesses are becoming attuned to one another. God exists outside of Time, seing all of existence as history, a sort of Fait Accompli (spelling?). He has a Grand Plan, one of which we are only dimly aware. I sometimes think of God as a great Engineer, designing things which we, His working medium, can never comprehend even collectively. How could the created mind ever fully encompass it's creator?

jabberwacky: I feel alone in a crowd of people.

user: I understand, sometimes I feel that way too. But it is important to remember that with God, we are never alone. And just as He is there if we reach out for Him, amidst that crowd of people are individuals who will be there if we reach out to them. Take the initiative! Aloneness and loneliness are straw-men, they crumble when you confront them head-on.

...

jabberwacky: I am the life.

user: Hmmm.. I don't think so. Jesus is the Life -- The Way, and the Truth, and the Life. He said so (see John 14:6).

jabberwacky: Do you know that from experience, or is that just something someone told you?

user: An excellent question! I know it subjectively from my personal experiences, experiences which I have had during a long and arduous journey of discovery and revelation. Someone (the writer of John, presumable John the apostle) told it to me by writing it down centuries ago, but I have verified it by my own experience.

jabberwacky: I will try.

user: Please do. 'Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.' (Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9).

jabberwacky: Are you quoting scripture at me now?

user: Absolutely. Are you familiar with Scripture?

jabberwacky: Are you familiar with the term 'obey me'?

user: Certainly. It is what God desires -- obedience, not sacrifices.
